06 May Inspiration: Lavender & White Tablescape
Sometimes the best ideas come at the last minute, you know what I mean? A few weeks ago Danielle and I decided we wanted take a Saturday to put together a styled place setting shoot. We started gathering ideas, coming up with a color scheme, and making mental lists of the items we would need. All of a sudden, life got in the way (as it will), and before we knew it Saturday was upon us and we hardly had anything to use. Instead of giving up, we decided that we’d check out Changing Thymes and Stems Market and came up with:
- 3 Lavender vases ($6 each)
- 1 Small white pitcher ($4)
- 1 Dinner Plate ($0.50)
- 1 Lunch Plate ($0.50)
- Assorted flowers & greens ($20)
When we got back to the house, we literally just started piecing things together using our treasures from the day and items Danielle had around. It was SO much fun being creative and resourceful, and the lavender vases were a great source of color inspiration. We were lucky to have Lauren with us that day, and she was able to provide her own insight (and world-class napkin folding skills).
When you’re trying to come up with ideas for dinner party or small event decor, sometimes it’s more fun to make a treasure hunt out of it. Let what you have around the house, or what you can quickly find in two hours at a thrift store or flower shop guide your direction.
